Remembering Gratitude #73

I am grateful:

beautiful sunshine through the trees last Sunday morning

for the ebook that I downloaded early this week, 42 Days to Fit, which was FREE at the time I downloaded it...it has fueled my motivation to start getting healthier...I intend to begin full-force tomorrow!

for the self-discipline and motivation and support of my family to begin getting more fit...losing a few pounds by exercising and eating better {NO dessert! AAH!}...I am certain I will feel a LOT better by the end of the six weeks and I'm excited for that  :)

for progress on a crocheting project that I am working on
{I can't reveal details yet...a certain sister of mine *might* be reading and I'm not ready for her to see!}

for all of us being mostly recovered from our colds...
there are still some lingering effects, but we're mostly good

for a DVD we wanted being in at the library from where we had to pick it up...it is a much larger library than our own, and they would not allow us to place a hold on the DVD {I even called, and was planning to go there and pick it up the very next day...grrr!...smaller libraries are MUCH more flexible  ;) } I wouldn't have worried about it so much, but it's the only library that holds a copy of the DVD and Netflix doesn't have it...it's one Jenna really wanted about Cleopatra

for good movies, like Fly Away Home, to enjoy together

for patience {when I manage to find some of it!}

for each new day

for gardening plans, and that one of my brothers and I have worked out a cooperative gardening arrangement that is mutually agreeable

for free ebooks...one I've already mentioned, and another I've really enjoyed is from Frugally Sustainable...Herbal Rescue: Your Guide to Creating a Homemade Herbal First Aid Kit

that even though my crock pot yogurt this week turned out the worst ever {I don't even know why! UGH!}...I am finding uses for the end product...I'm using the liquidy yogurt as buttermilk in baked goods

for the smell of banana muffins baking  :)

that though we are very disappointed with the lower-than-expected snow accumulation from the snowstorm this weekend {our area happened to be in a protected pocket...we did get snow and lots of cold wind, but not as much as at first predicted}, it is good that we didn't lose power or have any other negative effects

that I have the kind of husband who will help me tackle the big job of moving out the stove and the fridge to clean behind them, get himself all dirty in the process, and not bat an eyelash at the tremendous amount of dust in our supposedly nice and clean house  ;)

What is on your gratitude list this week?

I've been doing these weekly gratitude posts for over a year now, if you want to see how the series began, you can read my first Remembering Gratitude post.

  1. I am glad to hear that the snow was not too bad where you were. I was thinking about you. Great week!

  2. yay for good husbands and getting over colds!

    I was so good about yoga and eating well these last few weeks but tonight we went to my mom's for dinner and I undid a whole lotta good! I will be right there with you tomorrow!!

    I love that you and your brother can cooperatively garden! What a great idea! We have a lot of shade and can do greens, but there are a lot of things we can't do...thinking of a CSA or getting a plot at the local garden coop.

    1. The cooperative garden idea is great for us, not because we don't have the proper space to garden, because we definitely do...it's a time and enjoyment issue. My brother Jon LOVES to garden and grow veggies. He is awesome at it, and I really want to be like him, but I'm just not at this point. I like to grow things, and I like to have our own food, but I am a very lazy gardener in the heat of summer. Plus, this year, I am taking over at the library and I just don't know how I can do everything...we will be growing some things, especially a wide range of culinary and medicinal herbs, and my brother will take charge of most of the veggies. We are buying/providing all supplies and offering help when needed. I think this will work out great for all of us :)

  3. I love the idea of a cooperative garden with family:) I wish my family was a little closer, but they are three hours away. I love that you are going to be growing so many herbs! That's my goal for this year:) I need to check out that ebook you mentioned. Thanks!

    Hooray for good movies, crochet projects, husbands who help clean and healthy living! Sounds like a great week.
