girls did some fabric shopping when we were out for Jenna's birthday
for our relative good health, despite fighting colds this week
for our warm home (I just wish it didn't cost so darned much to heat it!)
for good food to eat
for reliable vehicles to drive
for our jobs so we can pay our bills
for plans to grow more of our own food, including some discussions with one of my brothers about some cooperative growing arrangements
for being able to discuss all sorts of problems and plans with David
that David washes dishes :)
for fun games

Jenna bought this game with some of her birthday money :)
for good books

if you haven't read any books by Byrd Baylor, you should...LOVE these!
that we've gotten the last of our Christmas decorations packed away...
we've had the tree put away since shortly after Christmas, but we had some other decorations out still...it was time to put them away!
for doing the work of reorganizing our finances a bit and setting a few goals
for paying off our car!!!!

Happy Birthday to your 12 year old!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Erica!
DeleteGreat post! I really want to start doing this regularly, writing down the little things that happen, on a day to day basis, that make me smile.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your gorgeous girl! And that Sunbonnet Sue applique is super cute.
Thanks Steph!!
DeleteIt's a good thing, writing down all the little things (and the big ones) that make you smile :)
Happy Birthday to Jenna! I am really grateful to have my husband back this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie :) I'm glad he's back safely!
DeleteI love watching their skills develop! I have been crocheting for a while, and never taught myself to do a granny square......their projects are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess :)
DeleteA birthday and fabric shopping? Throw in a trip to a large book store (and a vanilla latté) and it sounds like the best day ever to me. :) Happy birthday to your daughter!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin! A trip to a large book store and a vanilla latte sound GREAT too :)
DeleteBubble Talk has to be the most played game in our house right now!
ReplyDeleteHope Jenna had a great birthday!! Molly turned eleven this week:)
As always, love all the crafty creativeness going on at your house!!
Jenna did have a very good day :) Thanks, Jenn! I hope Molly had a super birthday, too!
DeleteBubble Talk is a lot of fun...I bet we'll be playing a lot more of it!
Looks like Jenna had a great 12th birthday! That Bubble Talk looks very interesting. Sun bonnet Sue is awesome. And Yay for paying off a car! That is huge. I put Byrd Baylor on my library list!! Great week Susan.
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm pretty psyched about getting that car paid off...no more car payments for us at all! (and, the plan is, never again!) Woo hoo!
DeleteIf you read Byrd Baylor, I'd love to know what you think.
