Remembering Gratitude #70: A Look At the Highlights of our Week

I am grateful:

for girls who take care of and look out for each other

that Jenna recovered quickly when she didn't feel well last weekend;
unfortunately, Lauren feels REALLY yucky today  :(

for homemade applesauce

for new cookie cutters arriving in the mail

for happily occupied girls

for sunshine

for fun creating with yarn
Jenna and I have taught ourselves to crochet granny squares,
and Lauren finger crocheted herself a belt :)

for more snow!

for pizza night...I love homemade pizza, and the leftovers for lunch!

for a good orthodontist visit, and that I was able to get the grocery shopping done while David took girls to the appointment...I love good time management and smart use of gas!

for Joan's posts about gaming/screen time...we discovered Minecraft...and the girls are having so much fun creating with it!

for my pretty teapot and cup :)

for independently crafting girls
the girls' Aunt (my sister) sent them American Girl craft kits as a gift...and they got right to work!
they decided to focus on the Doll Dining first, and they were inspired to make some treats from polymer clay, too

I made 3 1/2 quarts of yogurt for around the price I would have paid for one in the store!

for books that cause me to think and discuss and make changes...
the book Making Home by Sharon Astyk has been this book for me lately...
this book is all about making changes in our homes and in our lives, so we are prepared to use less and do more for ourselves, in case of emergencies and changes in our world

that Jenna has some special time with her Grandma (my Mom) this weekend to learn how to sew Sunbonnet Sue quilt blocks (an applique technique)...and Lauren and I get to spend some alone time together (David is working this weekend)
the last photo Jenna texted me of her progress...although I know she is much further along at this point

Lauren and I went out for a hot cocoa date after we dropped Jenna off at Grandma's, then we did some shopping at Target

for The Brady Bunch and for movies to watch, to help distract Lauren from feeling gross

for learning...all week long...all the time...OUR way!!

What are you grateful for this week?

I've been doing these weekly gratitude posts for over a year now, if you want to see how the series began, you can read my first Remembering Gratitude post.

{If you follow me on Instagram, you can see snippets of our week as I post photos, and get a sneak peek into all that I am grateful for...the photos I shared in this post were ones I shared previously on Instagram. My user name is learning_247 :) }

I'm going to link up with my friend Mary this week...I am grateful for her, too!!

  1. I hope everyone feels better soon, but otherwise looks like a terrific week. By the way, Susan, the photo with the girls reading American doll books looks like a scrapbook page. Do you have any recommendations for digital scrapbooking?

    1. And - by the way - THANK YOU for the Minecraft shout-out! :) I thought I said that in my earlier comment but I think I was sleep-deprived :)
