Remembering Gratitude #69

I am grateful:

for being able to laugh at myself and my silly and/or clumsy mistakes

for time spent catching up with a friend  :)

for the opportunity to spend some time chatting with local homeschool moms,
which doesn't happen often enough

for being able to do nature study OUR way

for the warmer weather that we're having now making it less expensive to heat our house (trying to find the positive here...I actually really hate the ups and downs in temps!)

for spontaneous learning fun
Lauren got out the Snap Circuits one night before bedtime

another night after supper, the girls decided to create a bulletin board with a newspaper theme...
Prism Press is the name...and they've done all sorts of writing to add to it, and plan to add more to change it up!

for an old friend of David's coming for a visit on Saturday
{he actually grew up in our house, and we bought our house from his parents :) }

we went out for lunch and the girls got a lesson in how to play Ping Pong...

and a lesson in playing pool...from two experts  ;)

for art journaling with my girls

although, I never did get to finish my page due to interruptions...I'll get back to it later today :)

for good, homemade food...and the ability to buy the ingredients to prepare it
oatmeal with cinnamon, honey, and dried cranberries
a new recipe we tried for banana bread, and I added blueberries
peanut butter cookies with chocolate chip smiley faces

For what are you grateful this week??

I've been doing these weekly gratitude posts for over a year now, if you want to see how the series began, you can read my first Remembering Gratitude post.

{If you follow me on Instagram, you can see snippets of our week as I post photos, and get a sneak peek into all that I am grateful for...the photos I shared in this post were ones I shared previously on Instagram. My user name is learning_247 :) }

  1. That is a great list, and I applaud your trying to see the positive in even the things that annoy you. I love seeing your pictures each week of the fun things you guys do and the good food you eat. Thanks for sharing all this with us.

    1. I'm glad to share, Phyllis :) I'm always pleased when others like to read what I share! I do try really hard to see the positive...sometimes it can be so tough...but I try.

  2. What wonderful things Susan. I love all your pictures. Do you have a ping pong and pool table? I used to be a ping pong Queen. Kei has never even played. I would so love to get Kei Snap Circuits! I always love reading your Gratitude posts. It has made me stop and think of the good especially in this last 6 months. You are ALWAYS such inspiration!

    1. Karen, no, we don't have a ping pong or pool table. The place we went to eat lunch has them. This is the first time the girls played either game...they had fun :)
      Snap Circuits are great! We bought our set in 2011 right before Christmas when they were marked down in price on Amazon.
      Thank you for saying I'm an inspiration...that feels a bit strange to me, but I am honored :)

  3. I love that you are always thankful for the simple things--like being able to buy food...I try to remember to be grateful for things that I can take for granted.

    I love that bulletin board the girls made. Is that at home or the library?

    Did you find a local homeschool group??

    1. I think that one reason it's easier for me to remember to be grateful for those things is that I grew up very poor, and I know how much better I have it now.

      The bulletin board is at home, in the girls' upstairs hallway :)

      No, no homeschool group...I saw the homeschool moms at the library. The best we can do at the group thing is to try to coordinate a few activities here and there, but so far, it's been tough to schedule so everyone who is interested ends up participating. Oh well...
